After reading Blogging for MLM Success Part 1 you are now aware of the fundamental reasons why you need to have an effective blog. Yet, how exactly do you do it? You don’t want to put together a blog just for the sake of having a blog. This can really hurt any previous effort you have done to brand yourself online. If you set up a blog that isn’t high quality, this will leave a negative impression in the viewers mind. Once this impression is made, it will take 10 times more work to reverse it. You have about 7-13 seconds to make a first impression with your blog, so keep this in mind while you are setting yours up.
Creating a MLM successful blog can be accomplished a few different ways. The first way, and obviously the easiest, is to pay someone to set it up for you. There are professional website designers who make their living creating blogs. The quality of website and the amount charged per site varies greatly. So if you choose to go this route, I would do some research first. A good place to ask for references is over at Betternetworker. Even if you do pay someone to develop your blog, you will need to take some time later to figure out how the site actually works so you are able to maintain it. Other people prefer to set up their blog on their own because it doesn’t involve any out of pocket expense. This option can take considerably longer because there is a learning element involved. When creating a blog on your own, your first decision needs to be whether to use a free hosted blog, or to pay for a self-hosting blog. There is a big difference between the two.
Normally when choosing between paying for something or getting it for free, most people would choose the free version. Now when it comes to blogs, you have to think of your desired outcome. If you want to have a personal website for your friends and family to keep tabs on you, then the free version would suit you just fine. However, if you are trying to build a blog for MLM success, then this certainly isn’t the case. You really need to get a self-hosted blog. A free blog will not give you the customization you need to set yourself apart. Also with a free blog, you are not the owner of your content. Your site is managed by the hosting company, and they have rights to your entire content. If for any reason they feel you have not followed their policies, then your blog may be taken down without warning, and everything will be lost. I personally know someone who this happened to, and I do not wish this upon you.
Having a self-hosted blog means actually paying a monthly fee for a company to host your blog. Now this expense is minimal and usually under $9 a month. The two companies that I would recommend for hosting are GoDaddy or Host Gator. These both have simple installation setup for a WordPress blog. I say WordPress, because this is the most effective blogging platform out there. If you’re going to do it right, you want to use the one with the most options, and the greatest support. However, be aware that WordPress has two different options. WordPress.com is the free site, and WordPress.org is the self-hosted site.
Now for the nitty gritty details! If you are determined to start blogging for MLM success, then you now have the knowledge to move forward. Yet, like I said, it can be difficult if you do not have somewhere to go for help. I set up my entire blog by myself. Before creating it, I had never even attempted to set up a site in my life. I had to learn some simple html and css (which I did by searching Google) to create the look I wanted, and because I’m a perfectionist, it took me quite awhile. However, I had the advantage of using a training webinar that was over 1.5 hours of specific steps on exactly how to set up a self-hosted WordPress blog for optimum success. So, since you are here now reading my blog, and you are serious in creating MLM success with your blog, I would like to help you out. I will give you this same exact training I used for free. Simply fill in the information below, and you will be taken directly to the training. No strings attached. Feel free to bookmark that page for repeat viewing. Now aren’t you glad you read this?
