Customer Loyalty: Can Auto-Responders Actually Create Loyal Customers?

Customer loyalty

The economy has forced lot of people to look at the internet and decide to try it out as their “Plan B”. This certainly explains why I’ve had a lot of people lately ask me about how I make a living online. Then usually their next question turns out to be…“What can I sell on the Internet? What types of businesses have been successful?”

Here’s my answer – this is the wrong question. Products come and go. People are always looking for the next big thing. However your clients are the ones to focus on.  If you treat your customers well they will stay with you forever.  You don’t even need to have your own product; you can make great money as an affiliate marketer if you want to.  However you need to take a few basic steps to ensure your customers loyalty.

How do you get customer loyalty? Build a relationship with them, offer to help, and gain their trust.  Start small. Create a niche you want to focus on.  Get basic information on your customers or leads. Use an email auto-responder, to leverage your time. These auto-responders can also be very useful to send e-mails to customers, letting them know of your new products or services even while you sleep.

Let’s use Sam as an example. As Sam cruises the Internet, he spots your e-mail capture form on your website, or Facebook profile. He’s interested in learning more information about what you’re promoting, so he opts into the form. On Monday, Sam gets his first e-mail explaining all the benefits of doing business with you. Week after week, Sam receives e-mails with helpful information that he actually looks forward to reading. The same thing happens to Bill, Tami, John and many more over the course of a few days and weeks.

Prospecting is happening while you are doing other things to build your business. Isn’t that great! Sequential e-mails, like those sent through an auto-responder, can counter your customers’ objections and teach them the value of your product. You are saved the drudgery of answering hundreds of e-mails individually, and your business continues to build itself.

Another benefit of sequential emails is that people will see them eventually, even if they join your email list at month later. This catches the missed sales that are so prevalent when online business owners have a single promotion that misses everyone who came to the web site after the promotion is over.

Take time to build your list carefully, and you will build a valuable client base which will ensure the lasting success of your online business. Do not however promote your business opportunity or product every chance you get. This will turn them off and they will unsubscribe at the first sign of a sales pitch.

Be helpful in your information. Have them wanting to know what it is you do, and of course be willing to talk to them personally and make that relationship count. They are a human beings with feelings, not just a name on your list.  If you get a phone number always pick up the phone and connect with them!

Hey if you don’t want the emails anymore, just unsubscribe – no biggie!
